Enviroschools Workshop

On Friday March the 8th Lindsey the Nelson Enviroschools co-ordinator came to room 4 to work with The Blue Crew and The Green Ninjas.

The first activity we did was learning more about the Enviroschools guiding principles then we had to match up pictures of students doing the guiding principles with the actual guiding principle.

Then we did a small group activity using a 'consensus mat' about what we would like our school to be like. We recorded our ideas down and then together decided which things were similar about everyone's ideas.

It was a really enjoyable experience. Thanks for your help Lindsey.

THE BLUE CREW

The Blue Crew are a new Enviroschools group at Tahunanui School that is made up of year three and four students.

This year some of our goals are to make ‘No Smoking’ and ‘No Littering’ signs and me and my best friend Keira are planning to make a friendship place. A friendship place is where kids can make friends when they have no one to play with.

The Blue Crew want to make our school a more happier place. Some members of the group are planning to paint the big wall

by room 7 so people who come into the school are greeted by a beautiful colourful wall. 

Everyone in the Blue Crew are aiming to do something to improve the well-being of our school and make it a better place to learn.
